COURSE HIGHLIGHTS:

The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) and the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) are pleased to announce their partnership to develop the Optimal Trauma Center Organization & Management Course.

• This collaborative course will be taught by physicians and nurses with the goal of enhancing trauma center systems of care and improving patient care through implementation of the ACS COT Trauma Center Standards.
• The nuances of implementation or improving upon trauma center criteria within the structure of your specific facility will be reviewed in an interactive forum.
• Whether a verified mature center or a hospital preparing for designation, this course is designed to assist participants to create strategies, processes and operations to support trauma systems based upon their own unique environments.
• The course is designed to assist Trauma Medical Directors, Trauma Program Managers/Coordinators, Administrators, Trauma Registrars, State/Region personnel and other disciplines involved in trauma. A baseline of what is required to be a verified center rather than the ceiling will be represented in the course.

FACULTY:
As an organization accredited by the ANCC, the Society of Trauma Nurses requires everyone who is in a position to control the content of an education activity to disclose all conflicts of interest. The ANCC defines a conflict of interest as an affiliation or relationship of a financial nature with a commercial interest organization that might bias a person’s ability to objectively participate in the planning, implementation, or review of a learning activity. The potential for conflicts of interest exists when an individual is able to control or influence the content of an educational activity and is in a financial relationship with a commercial interest organization, the products or services of which are relevant to the content of the educational activity. 

COURSE MATERIALS, MEALS & CONTINUING EDUCATION:

Registration includes an electronic copy of the Optimal Course manual. The file will be distributed to you within one week of the course date. To successfully complete this course participants must attend the event in its entirety, verify attendance by signing in, and complete an evaluation at the end of the course.

The Society of Trauma Nurses is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
